Some people value the lives of animals more than human beings, due to compassion. They think that animals cannot complain and human beings should help them. Some people do so due to circumstances. When they have no one to offer a good company, they resort to animals for some kind of company.

As a consequence, we are increasingly likely to face ethical dilemmas over the value of human versus non-human life. It won’t be in the form of a quick decision to kill an animal to save the life of a child.
