Do NDA cadets get leave to go home?
Holidays to Cadets at National Defence Academy Sundays remain off in the NDA. Cadets may need to stay back at the academy if they have punishments left to complete. Cadets may also be required to return early if they fail in PT, academics, swimming, or for a retest.
At what time NDA cadets wake up?
All cadets wake up at 4 a.m. and take about 2 hours for physical training (PT), horse riding, and firing. After attending morning attendance the cadets attend their outdoor training for another 2 hours which includes PT and drill.
Why are so many cadets dropping out of the NDA?
The back-breaking physical training has led to an alarming number of cadets dropping out of the National Defence Academy. In the 127th course, out of 400 cadets who were admitted in the academy, there were 40, who chose not to complete their course and left midway.
What happens if you fail in the NDA training?
There were instances at my time when cadets got fail in NDA training which is known as Relegation. Cadets who get fail in academics, or physical tests or even on disciplinary grounds, or due to prolonged absence from training are relegated for a period of 6 months.
What is the tenure of AADA cadet in NDA?
A Cadet spends a total tenure of 3 years at National Defense Academy (NDA). The 3 years are divided into 6 terms which can be related to a semester. After the completion of each semester a cadet is given a term break of <=30 Days.
How much is the stipend of an NDA student?
After gaining admission into the NDA, students (cadets, so to say) begin to receive monthly stipends. Cadets at the Nigeria Defence Academy earn a monthly stipend of roughly ₦50,000. A few years back, ₦14,000 was deducted from their monthly salary as savings. And during passing out, they will receive the accumulation of those monthly savings.
