INFJs are a tricky bunch in a social setting. On one hand, we’re introverts, so large gatherings can make us uncomfortable, and we introverts need time alone to decompress. On the other, we’re empathetic helpers, so we genuinely love human interaction and listening to people.
INFJs can appear awkward at times, or even behave awkwardly, but this is often because of their incredible sense of intuition and empathy. INFJs who have alienated themselves can start to become uneasy in social settings, even though they are capable of being rather charming and outgoing people.
What Infj hate most?

- Lack of authenticity. One of the most interesting things about INFJs is that they can read people like books.
- Small talk.
- Criticism.
- Conflict.
- Being vulnerable.
- Attention.

How do INFJs spend their time without socializing?
An INFJ can always find a way to occupy their time without a lot of socializing. Sometimes, just speaking to those people who an INFJ encounters in daily life, neighbors, shopkeepers, the mail person, is sufficient. I think the last thing an INFJ would want is to discuss a topic which opens a can of worms for them.
Why are INFJ’s so guarded?
For the INFJ this causes them to distance themselves, often becoming rather guarded around most new people. This doesn’t mean they cannot be social or friendly, it just means that most people don’t get to see inside and beyond those walls they have built up.

Why are INFJs so awkward in relationships?
Sometimes this causes the INFJ to feel tense around certain people, especially when they know something about that person which they are hiding. This makes situations awkward, and so it really isn’t the INFJ who is being awkward but rather the circumstances.
