Why do so many people like Sakura and Hinata in Naruto?

Among all the other side girls, Hinata gets a more prominent role so there is a competition formed between both these fans. Thus, the Naruto fandom basically consists of fans who like only Hinata or like only Sakura. There are not so many people who like both of them.
