Breathing is an important task which is mostly subconscious. But when you deliberately concentrate on a task, inorder to facilitate that task our ANS sometimes switches off breathing. It can’t switch breathing off for long because our brain will switch it back on for us to survive. All in all, this is perfectly normal.
