Art can be described as reality seen right by a self seeing right. The possibility reality has of being seen right, is reality, too; so reality, including its possibility, is art.

is that reality is the state of being actual or real while art is (uncountable) the conscious production or arrangement of sounds, colours, forms, movements, or other elements in a manner that affects the sense of beauty, specifically the production of the beautiful in a graphic or plastic medium.
Does art represent reality?
In representational theory, art is defined by its ability to represent reality. This does not mean that art must always imitate reality, but it must in some form (even through abstraction) depict reality. It’s about how we understand reality, not just how we feel about it. And that’s how you know art.

Art needs to be individual, and individualism in art is actually a very Modernist ideal. However, taking a step further we can question whether Realism in art is even possible. This is a philosophical question, since we’re asking whether a human can see reality.
Does virtual reality have a place in the art world?
Virtual reality has a big place with art and artists in our current state of novelty within technology. Although somewhat cumbersome, there is an appeal to being able to fully submerge the viewer within your artwork. With VR, you can’t see the world around you, you only see what is being fed to you through your headset.
