Is it possible for a human to become a robot?
According to a futurologist, by 2050, humans will be able to integrate their brain or mind data into computers which can be encased in a humanoid robot and, thereby, live forever. Many scientists, including ones which have won Nobel prizes, predict human cloning will happen within 50 years.
Could it be possible that robots will become emotional?
On the theory that emotions are physiological perceptions, robots will probably never have human emotions, because they will never have human bodies. It might be possible to simulate physiological inputs, but the complexity of the signals that people get from all of their organs makes this unlikely.
Do you think robots will have the ability to have feelings?
Charming and cute as they are, the capabilities and intelligence of “emotional” robots are still very limited. They don’t have feelings and are simply programmed to detect emotions and respond accordingly. But things are set to change very rapidly. To feel emotion, you need to be conscious and self-aware.
What if robots have emotions like humans?
If robots were to feel emotions, society would need to consider their rights as living beings, which could be detrimental to humanity. It is unjust and cruel to deny a living, caring thing certain treatments and activities. Therefore, robots with emotions and specific desires would be a severe weight on our society.
Why robots should have emotions?
Research into social robots has shown that machines that respond to emotion can help the most vulnerable, the elderly and children, and could lead to robots becoming more widely socially acceptable. Robots that help care for others are often at the cutting edge of emotional interaction.
Can robots think?
A team of researchers at the University of California Berkeley have determined that robots can be capable of such perception. To prove it, they’ve developed a new robotic learning technology that enables robots to think ahead in order to “figure out how to manipulate objects they have never encountered before.”
Should robots look like humans?
Ultimately there was some consensus that it is acceptable for robots to look like humans, as long as this offers commercial, societal, or artistic value, and there is sufficient transparency so that people are not deceived into thinking that they are engaging with a human, rather than a machine.
Do you think it is possible for robots to replace human intelligence and emotions?
Are we replaceable? No matter how many developments we see in the wide use of AI, it is still not possible for AI to replace human intelligence.
Can robots be self aware?
The robot is also able to represent itself by observing and describing its actions to enable a simple form of self-awareness.
Do we want robots to be human-like?
But we also want robots to be human. We want them to look human, and we also want them to have human-like emotions. In “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” there was a constant desire for the android to get emotions to complete his life. But making robots human-like isn’t for them.
Should we build robots with emotions?
One reader opined that, as emotions are what make humans human, we really should not build robots with that very human trait and take over the care-giving jobs that humans do so well.
Do we need empathy with robots?
For humans to be less fearful of and to trust a walking, talking, gesturing and weight-carrying robot, we need to have mutual empathy with the robot. What sets a robot apart from mere electronic appliances is their advanced machine intelligence – and emotions.
At the same time, that doesn’t prevent some level of social or pseudo-social interaction with the robots. And to be clear, these robot models do not resemble humans or animals at all: they’re tracked and clawed. But they do take over some tasks and roles formerly done by military working dogs, or even humans in some cases.
