Can you solder nickel strips to batteries?
Works fine for soldering or using a small spot welder on 18650 batteries. Used this to spot weld to 18650 batteries (and a couple of soldered connections) and it is what it says.
Can 18650 batteries be soldered?
Soldering Li-Ion batteries such as 18650 can be dangerous. Overheat can cause the battery to catch fire and explode. If you decide to solder battery, you are doing so at your own risk. This is the 18650 battery I recommend for low current application.

What you need: a roll of electrical tape and two wires whose ends have been twisted together. First, lay the twisted part of the wires onto a strip of electrical tape.
