Their Teddy-bear fur and their ability to regulate body temperature allows bumble bees to be out and about on cold mornings, but they can’t fly until they have warmed up. At this point, they may even sit quietly in your hand and let you gently pet their furry bodies.

You could hold and pet them if you wanted just don’t press down and move slow. My grandpa is a beekeeper I used to play with the bees all the time as long as you don’t make them feel threatened or hurt them they won’t hurt you. P.S.

Generally only the guard bees at the entrance of the hive actually attack people. the other bees are too busy with their jobs. The guard bees usually only attack when a person gets closer, starts throwing rocks at the hive or hits the hive with a stick.
