Because we don’t like to worry other people with our problems, Mediator (INFP) personality types sometimes act as if everything in our lives is sunshine and rainbows. Like anyone, though, we Mediators can get stressed out. Seriously stressed out. And when that happens, it can be hard to know where to turn for relief.

Personal growth is very important to INFPs, and in times of sadness, we know that people return to their values and are forced to grow. They’re drawn to sadness because they realize that even though they feel miserable in the moment, it’s going to change their life somehow.

To feel better in depression, one needs to trust those around them and INFP finds this difficult to do, and the depression stays as it is, even gets worse, sometimes. INFP can also bottle things up and this can be another source of depression for the INFP, and so giving them an outlet or someone to share things with can be good for them.

How to help an INFP through a stressful event?

If you want to help an INFP relax or heal from a stressful event know that the best thing you can do is just offer quality time alone with them. A night where we make a delicious comfort meal and eat it with wine and candles is way better than sending flowers!

How do INFPs deal with grip-related stress?

If they are experiencing grip-related stress, they can write out all their negativity on paper and get it out that way. Taking a warm bubble bath gives the INFP two things they desperately need when under stress; alone time and a sensory experience.

The great things about INFP are that they can communicate deeply with others and are able to speak easily in metaphors and parables, and may even use an understanding and create symbols to share their ideas. INFPs are also drawn extremely to Fantasy worlds, probably more than other personality types.
