- Clay content test.
- Grain fitness test.
- Permeability test.
- Strength test.
- Refractoriness test.
- Mould hardness test.
What is M in M sand?
Manufactured sand (M–Sand) is a substitute of river sand for concrete construction. Manufactured sand is produced from hard granite stone by crushing.
How do you know if sand is bulking?
Procedure
- Pour the sand into 250 ml measuring cylinder up to the 200 ml mark.

Can we use M sand for RCC?
Yes, M-Sand (crushed sand) can replace 100\% river sand in a concrete mix proportion. Since quality control is maintained in the process of preparing manufactured sand, the sand obtained will better confirm to the Zone-II grading standards (required by IS code for concrete works) at all times.
What is permeability test of sand?
Permeability Test: It is expressed as the volume of air in cubic centimetres that will pass per minute under a pressure of 10 kg/m2 through a specimen of sand 1 square centimetre of cross-sectional area and one centimetre in height.
What is in foundry sand?

What are the tests for sand at construction site?
Following are the tests for sand at construction site: Organic impurities test – this test is conducted at the field, for every 20 cum or part thereof. Silt content test – this is also a field test and to be conducted for every 20 cum.
How do you test for impurities in sand?
Organic impurities test – this test is conducted at the field, for every 20 cum or part thereof. Silt content test – this is also a field test and to be conducted for every 20 cum. Particle size distribution – this test can be conducted at site or in laboratory for every 40 cum of sand.
What is m-sand and why should you use it?
Another reason for use of M-Sand is its availability and transportation cost. Since manufactured sand can be crushed from hard granite rocks, it can be readily available at the nearby place, reducing the cost of transportation from far-off river sand bed.
